I removed the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard center software and now I can change the settings for the BlueTooth mouse because now Windows is in charge of the settings and just treats it as a generic mouse. Maybe SetPoint software and the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center Software don't play nice together. I also have when at home a Logitech Mouse and LogiTech's SetPoint software installed. Mouse and Keyboard Center doesn't recognize it as one of its own. Instead of "Microsoft BlueTooth Mouse 5000" it calls it "BlueTooth Mouse 5000" once it's connected - truncating and cutting off the "Microsoft" so the Microsoft I suspect it has something to do with the way that Bluetooth on Windows 8.1 lists the device. Mouse and Keyboard Center says that it cannot detect any Microsoft Mice. When I try to do that, the Control Panel->Mouse brings up Mouse and Keyboard Center. Recently I wanted to change some mouse settings. I have a Microsoft BlueTooth Wireless Mouse 5000 for travel.Īnd Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center installed.
